Welome all to another successful shmup-dev competition. This is the first competition that I have run since taking command of the website and I just wanted to thank you all for taking part and making it the huge success it has been. I'm ever increasingly impressed with the level of talent and dedication that people bring to this site and the shmup community as a whole and as such my greatest respects go to you all. Before we continue though, one of our most respected and verbally talented members has some words he'd like to add.

Hello to you all, and I, Adigun Azikiwe Polack, will be quite honored to share my personal thoughts with you regarding the overall results of the Shmup-dev Competition 2k7 Round 2!!!
When the previous competition held at Shmup-dev — the AutoFire 2k7 Compo — was over, I immediately started a very special topic over at the Shmup-dev forums for the many members there to decide what the newest theme was gonna be for this 4th shooting-game developing competition here that was to take place later in 2007. There were no doubt lots upon lots of replies as well as QUITE a seriously thriving brainstorming think tank going on among the many people there indeed as they all exchanged and heavily shared ideas around, and it totally became a most talked about discussion that definitely got them all talking and then some, I *really* gotta say for sure!!!
And right before the Summer of 2007 had started, when it finally came time for our judges — Motorherp, Tim W., and Charlie, including myself as the VERY newest one in this wonderfully devoted panel indeed — to ultimately decide what the theme was officially gonna be, it eventually turned out to be no less than the “options” theme, which was later revealed to the widespread public on June 1, 2007 as this newest Shmup-dev Competition 2k7 Round 2 had already begun at that time!!
And now that the contest deadline of October 1, 2007 had passed, when the intense and smoldering dust had finally settled and died, there came a record turn-out of a whopping TWENTY (20) shmup entries for all of you to play and even enjoy, and our judging panel of Motorherp, Tim, Charlie, and myself have thoroughly reviewed and graded every game here by a percentage score out of a possible 100% (which is a PERFECT score, by the way!), based on how we feel about the entries ourselves. Then, the four individual judges’ scores for each entry are tabulated to give you an overall final score for that very game indeed. It is that simple!
And last but totally not least at all, I am so ABSOLUTELY glad indeed that many of the entrants have *really* stepped it up and pushed themselves through the envelope in this competition to come up with some truly damn amazing games here, not to mention some sure and phenomenal uses of the Options that go beyond just your everyday Gradius stuff, let me just tell you right now!!!
Do enjoy the many fine entries that are featured in the results of this very competition, and my MOST deepest congratulations to all our winners who truly made the Top 5 here quite excellently!!! Peace, and keep on shmuppin’, splendidly awesome ladies and gentlemen!!!
