I haven't looked at your framework yet but I definitely suggest investigating/making use of Matt Rix's free Futile 2D framework/library for Unity. You'll lose the editor niceties (though with a bit of extra setup you can still make use of Unity's own camera, particles etc. if you want) but performance is looking pretty great, even on fillrate-limited devices.
